Younger Students Want Online College Degree, Says Study

A recent study in Massachusetts reported that more and more people are now interested in college thru the click of a mouse only which means online college education. Yes, this is true. Even without the study as basis for this article, it is already predicted by some experts in the worldwide web that younger generation of students would soon prefer online education.

Bill Pepicello of the University of Phoenix in an article published over KTAR.com identifies two big reasons for this conclusion made through a recent study conducted in Massachusetts.

1. Flexibility – Many students already enrolled in online education in Massachusetts are saying that there is flexibility in this type of education they like. Simply because right now students in America and other progressive countries of the world are now banking online, buy their groceries online, shop online and all other activities they do online. This is one of the top reasons why they also want that their education will be just a click away too. In fact, even older students are also attracted to online education especially those already having families and other professionals who also want to discover new horizons by way of enrolling in other degree courses. Many students, Pepicello says, need more flexibility and only online education can address this need effectively.

2. Struggling economy – Based also of the study conducted the struggling economy all over the world has also encouraged students to take online education, simply because, they can cut off other expenses such as transportation, gasoline expenses for those who have cars, and other allowances. The online education is only a home-study program so that many students in schools world wide prefer this system to be less expensive than traditional brick-and-mortar classes. However, a group of professors at the University of Illinois commented that online education can be a good educational tool but recommended that internet learning might not be appropriate for completing the entire college years.
